How to Set Up Barcoded Pack Labels For Laser Printing

Setting Up AuraQ Pack Labels
This guide will help you switch your pack labels from the standard Zebra format to the AuraQ (Microsoft Word Template) format for laser jet printing. These labels can include details and information from the pack record, as well as a scannable barcode for the pack number.
Switching on AuraQ Labels
Make sure you are signed in to Merchanter with a Prime user account that has admin credentials.
Go to Settings → Organisation settings → Ledger Settings. In the new window that opens, navigate to the Ledger Info tab, and under that, the Packs tab.
On this tab, look for the Pack Label Printing section. You will see a setting called Template Type. The default setting for this field is Zebra Label Printing. Select the AuraQ option from the dropdown. New options will then appear for configuration.
Configure Your Barcode
this step can be skipped if you do not need a barcode on your pack label. You can now tell the system what kind of barcode to generate. A dropdown for Barcode Format will appear with six options. All of them support alpha characters (letters and numbers), so they will work with a Pack Reference.
- QR Code is the modern recommended choice for most warehouses.
- Code 39 is also widely compatible and supported, and is probably still the most common choice.
If you are unsure, ask your warehouse team which barcode format their scanners read, or check our reference guide below.
You also need to set the dimensions for the barcode image. Enter a Width and a Height. Start with 300 for width and 100 for height. You can come back and adjust these later if the barcode prints too small or too large on the label.

| PDF 417 | A stacked 2D barcode designed to hold large datasets, including text and numbers. Often used for transport and identification, such as boarding passes and ID cards. |
| Aztec | A compact 2D barcode that does not require a quiet zone (blank space around it), making it ideal for small or constrained areas. Commonly used in transport, especially digital tickets and mobile boarding passes. |
Setting Printer Contexts
Once you have chosen the format and dimensions, you can set the printer(s) that will be used for label printing. As long as your printer is configured in PrintNode and imported to Merchanter, you should be able to select it for use as a pack label printer.
Simply click the Add button, then select the correct printer from the list. there is also a remove button if you need to delete a printer from the list.

Once all your settings are correct, click Save in the bottom right corner of the window to make your changes.
Configuring the New Label Definitions
The next step is to create the label design in Word, and then add all the correct field definitions for the information you would like pulled onto the label from Merchanter. This will likely be created by the Ten25 support staff from your specification. If you wish to create your own custom documentation, please speak to Ten25 support to arrange training.
Please note: to include the pack barcode, the Word document will need merge fields defined that include a table pulling in the barcode image, like this:

Within the document mapping
- Region should be defined as a Microflow
- Select the Microflow StockManagement.GetPackBarcodeImage from the drop down,
- Is Conditional set to No.

Adding a New Pack Label Definition
If this is the first time the system is using Laser Pack Label Printing, then a pack label definition will need to be set up. Go to Settings → Ledger Settings → Document Management → AuraQ Dashboard.
Click the New button in the AuraQ Document Templates section.

Give the template a Name and a useful, relevant Description.
Add your Word document label definition by clicking the Browse button in the file section and navigating to the correct document.
You will need to select the Document Object Module of StockManagement and Entity of SpecifiedPack.
If this is the first time setting up the document, it is likely that you will have to set the Auto Mapping option to None, as you will not have a previous version to take settings from, nor a JSON mapping file.

After mapping all of your fields in the Region Mapping window, you will need to publish your document before it becomes active.

Setting Up the Document Template
Next, you need a new Document Template for the pack labels if one does not already exist. Navigate to Settings → Ledger Settings → Document Management → Document Templates.
Click the New button in the top left of the screen.

In the Document Template window that pops up,
- enter a clear, descriptive Name for the template.
- Process when should be set to Always
- Template type should be set to AuraQ
- Pick your document template from the AuraQ Template dropdown
- Document type should also be Pack Label
- Document file name prefix can be left blank, as the pack labels are not saved to the system
- Leave Can have attachments unticked
- Archive should be ticked

Once all of these settings are correct, click Save.
Printing Your Labels
You should now be able to go to Products → Packs.

Select your pack or packs and click the Process Labels button.

In the Print Packs dialogue box:
- You can set the number of copies you want for all the labels
- You can pick a label definition from the dropdown (if you only have one, it will be selected by default)
- You can also select which printer to send them to (again, if you only have one, it will be selected by default)
- You can set a different number of copies for each pack
- Or disable the printing of a label by clicking the green slider

Once you are happy, click the Print Labels button.
Please note: if you receive any errors when trying to print the labels, make sure the Merchanter system is not in Test Mode, as that disables all printing. Also make sure MX Reflections is up to date so you have all the latest microflows (the support team can do this for you).
