Order Picking Overview Setting up Advanced Order Picking Make your staff aware of the change: How To Use Advanced Order Picking Aged orders have a status of “No pick req.”

Order Picking Overview

The activation of Advanced Order Picking introduces several newly allocated order statuses in  Merchanter, providing enhanced control over the sales order lifecycle to better align with your business processes.

With the activation of this feature, additional sub-statuses such as Required (Future pick), To pick (Today), Picking, and Picked become active, offering a more granular view and management of your orders throughout the fulfilment process.

This document provides an overview of the two key aspects of the Advanced Order Picking tool: setup and utilization.

Setting up Advanced Order Picking

To successfully set up the Order Picking Module, you must do some maintenance on your employee records – Setting up an Employee for Order Picking.

Subsequently, it is necessary to configure new documentation scenario triggers based on the updated picking statuses. How to Create a Picking Document Scenario.

To accommodate these changes, activate the module within the ledger settings by following the steps outlined in - How to Turn on Advance Order Picking.

Make your staff aware of the change:

It is important to be aware that once the feature is activated, UT400 Merchanter will display new functionality, buttons, and order statuses.
Please make sure all staff members are aware of the new screen layout.

If you require the inclusion of additional information on your picking document, it may be necessary to reach out to the support team for assistance.

How To Use Advanced Order Picking

Now the setup is complete, the Employees are configured, the documentation setup and advanced order picking is switched on, and you are now ready to process an order for picking.

First, you will need to assign a picker to the order and set the order to be picked- Assign a Picker to a Single Order and Ready for Picking.

You can also add pickers and set orders for picking as a batch - Assign a Picker and Ready for Picking a Batch of Allocated Orders.

After the order has been picked in your yard, you will need to confirm your picked order on Merchenter - Confirming the Picked Order.

There are several Reporting KPIs that you may find useful for your dashboard to help manage your order picking - Advanced Order Picking KPIs.

Aged orders have a status of “No pick req.”

Orders raised on the system before the order picking was activated will show as “No pick req.”

These orders can be set for picking, but unfortunately, it is a manual job, there is no batch process - How to fix old Orders That are not Available for Picking.
All new orders entered after the advanced order picking tool was set live will have a status of to be picked once allocated.
