Assigning a Driver to a Sales Order Method 1 - Assigning a Driver During Order Allocation Method 2 - Assigning a Driver to an Already Allocated Order Method 3 - Assigning a Driver to Multiple Orders (Batch Assignment) Video Guide

Assigning a Driver to a Sales Order

Assigning a driver to a sales order is a straightforward process that can be completed in several ways. Below, we’ll explore the three main methods to assign a driver, ensuring flexibility and efficiency in your workflow.

By using these methods, you can efficiently assign drivers to sales orders, whether you’re working with individual orders or handling multiple orders at once. This flexibility ensures your logistics operations run smoothly and keeps your workflow streamlined.

Method 1 - Assigning a Driver During Order Allocation

When allocating an order, you have the option to assign a driver at the same time.
Start by creating an order or opening a draft order you wish to allocate.
Click the Allocate Order button.

This will open the order confirmation window

If you look in the fulfilment section, you’ll find a dropdown menu to select a driver.

Choose the appropriate driver and click the Allocate Order button to confirm.

This locks in the driver assignment at the allocation stage.

If you prefer not to assign a driver at this point, you can leave it blank and use one of the other methods later.

Method 2 - Assigning a Driver to an Already Allocated Order

For orders that have already been allocated, you can still assign a driver by returning to the order.
Locate the Assign Driver button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

Clicking this button will open a fulfilment popup with a Driver dropdown menu where you can select the driver.

Once you’ve made your selection, save it with the Confirm button to complete the assignment.
This method is ideal if you need to assign a driver after the initial allocation.

Method 3 - Assigning a Driver to Multiple Orders (Batch Assignment)

If you need to assign a driver to multiple orders at once, you can do so in bulk.
Navigate to the Sales section and access the Live Orders area.

From there, go to Picked Orders to view a list of orders ready for assignment.
(you could use any of the live views to assign a driver)

Without expanding the individual lines, multi-select the orders you wish to assign a driver to.

Then, click the Assign Driver (selected) button.

Choose the driver from the dropdown menu in the new popup, and confirm.

This will assign the selected driver to all the chosen orders simultaneously, saving you time and effort.

You can also filter the view and then use the Assign Driver (ALL) button to add a driver to every order in the list.
